What a session involves
A Deluxe session has four stages. Lite includes the first two, with a moisturiser to finish. In these short time-lapse videos, I talk you through each stage as I do it.
Stage 1. Wellbeing acupuncture
A few fine needles in the body while you lie back and relax.
Stage 2. Facial needling
Very fine needles placed in the face.
Stage 3. Fine skin needling
Shallow needling of the skin surface. Deluxe only.
Stage 4. Facial massage
A full facial massage with hands, gua sha and jade roller. Deluxe only.

Lite covers the first two stages in an hour. Deluxe includes all four and takes two hours.

What to expect
Most people find facial acupuncture deeply relaxing.
There isn’t enough research on facial acupuncture for me to promise visible changes to your skin. What I can promise is an unhurried, carefully done treatment, from a doctor.
Many people choose a series of sessions. We’ll talk about what’s realistic for you before you book more than one.
Is it safe?
Some people get small bruises, redness or tenderness where the needles went in. These usually settle within a day or two.
A bruise on the face can take longer to fade, so avoid booking just before a big event.
I use sterile, single-use needles.
Tell me when you book if you
- are pregnant
- have a bleeding or clotting disorder, or take blood-thinning medicine
- have a skin infection or rash on your face
- get frequent migraines
- have high blood pressure or diabetes that isn’t well controlled
Common questions
Does it hurt?
The needles are very fine. Most people feel a light prick or nothing at all, and find the session relaxing.
How is it different from Botox or fillers?
Nothing is injected into the skin, and you can go back to your day straight away. It’s a gentler, natural approach, so it won’t give the same kind of change.
How should I prepare?
Come with a clean face if you can. Have a light meal about an hour before, and avoid alcohol and caffeine on the day.
Who is it for?
Adults who are generally well. If you have a medical condition, book a free call first and we can talk it through.
What if I need to change or cancel?
You can move your appointment to another time up to 4 hours before, or cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before, from your confirmation email. With less notice, the session may be charged. If you’re unwell, let me know as soon as you can. I’m always flexible about illness.
